Looking back on the 55th Wiener Ball

We look back with pride and pleasure on the past ball that took place on 3 February last. It was the 55th edition, a lustrum edition! Especially for this occasion, the choreography of the opening dance came straight from Vienna and a lot of use was made of the beautiful alternation of the black and white of the debutants’ clothes. This special opening dance was followed by the traditional “Alles Walzer” after which, in no time, the entire dance floor was full.
And it stayed that way throughout the evening, not least because of the musical entertainment at this 55th edition, which this year was provided by the Ensemble Johann Strauss from Vienna in alternation with the Dance Orchestra of the “Koninklijke Marine”.

Throughout the evening, ball guests could also relax in the Wiener Café, this year with a sea view, while enjoying Viennese delicacies. And there was also the opportunity to have state photos taken in the foyer with family, friends and debutantes.

As this year was an anniversary edition, there was also a striking detail for the Mitternachtseinlage. The ladies debutantes exchanged their Biedermeier for a Wiener Ball hand fan and the men replaced their white bow tie with an lustrum bow tie.
Even later in the evening, it was time for the Public quadrille where the first and sixth tour were danced faster and faster. Once again this year, this provided infectious enthusiasm, with lots of laughter. So many guests joined in that it barely fit on the dance floor!

After the ballroom itself closed, the ball continued into the early hours at Club Conversation.

As said, we look back with pride and pleasure on a very successful 55th edition of the Wiener Ball.
