We look back on a successful edition of the Vienna Ball on 22 February 2025 at Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin! The evening began with drinks accompanied by the hunting horn players, followed by two different dinners: one for the ball guests and one for the former debutantes and young people. As usual, a game was played at the latter with a bottle of champagne as the main prize. After dinner, the guests moved to the ballroom, where the 56th Vienna Ball was opened by the debutantes, this year a group of no fewer than 72. During the ball, tickets could be purchased for the tombola, with big prizes to be won in the draw. An auction was also held again this year, raising a total of no less than €9,190 for the charity Inloophuis Scarabee! Ball guests were also able to enjoy traditional Austrian dishes at the Vienna food stations or enjoy pastries with coffee or tea in the Vienna Café. After the debutantes had performed the opening dance one last time at midnight, it was already time for the public quadrille. This dance was performed with great enthusiasm by the ball guests, young and old, bringing everyone together on the dance floor. Thanks to the dynamic alternation of the Johann Strauss Ensemble and the dance orchestra of the Royal Netherlands Navy Band, people stayed on the dance floor until the early hours and it was still busy on the dance floor even at the end of the ball with the “Brüderlein Fein”. Afterwards, the party moved to Club Conversation, but even this venue had to close its doors early in the morning after several encores. The debutantes then ended the evening as a group, a fitting conclusion to their special experiences as debutantes.
