Ball Guests

A charming and unique evening full of grandeur at the prestigious “Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin” in Noordwijk aan Zee, The Netherlands.

The Wiener Ball has been held at the Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin in Noordwijk aan Zee for decades.

Depending on your ticket, the evening begins with the beautiful sound of the hunting horn players whilst you enjoy a glass of champagne. This is followed by an exquisite three-course dinner with a stunning view of the sea, where you are sure to get to know the other ball guests. After the drinks and dinner, the doors to the majestic ballroom open with a warm and inviting ambiance. We recommend purchasing a combined Ball ticket, so you can have a front-row seat to watch the debutantes’ formation dance. Following the ceremonial opening, the debutantes, who have spent a year rehearsing their own unique choreography, will perform their dance. The debutante ladies are the only ones at the ball permitted to wear white. After the debutantes’ performance, the dance floor is opened to all ball guests. The wooden dance floor is laid especially for this evening and, following last year’s event, has been extended by 5 metres and is now 38 metres long. The ballroom is air-conditioned throughout the evening to ensure a pleasant temperature.

On stage, the Ensemble Johann Strauss from Vienna and the dance orchestra of the Navy take turn, playing everything from Viennese waltzes to ballroom, Latin and jazz. From your loge seating, you will be able to see the debutantes’ performance as they dance in classical formation. When the “Alles Walzer” is called, you are cordially invited to step onto the dance floor yourself. The dance floor is bustling with activity all evening long. Alternating with dancing, you can enjoy delicious food and drinks with Austrian influences in the Foyer. Naturally, the pastries of Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin cannot be missed. You can enjoy these delicacies in the Wiener Café while drinking a cup of coffee or tea. It is also possible to take a photo in front of the new photo wall on the red carpet, or you can have a formal portrait taken by the house photographer Hulshof on the other side of the Foyer. Before you know it, the evening will end and “Brüderlein Fein” will ring out to conclude this wonderful evening, just as it happens in Vienna.

Should you wish to take the opportunity to spend a delightful weekend by the sea, the hotel offers accommodation at a special Wiener Ball rate. You will receive a link for this immediately after ordering your ticket.

New for ball guests!

Since last year, there has been a new concept introduced: the V.I.P. tables. A new concept to connect our ball guests with one another, whether you come alone or as a couple. In our ballroom, which is now divided into zones, you will be seated in a prime location with the other V.I.P. tables. Four companies are the heads of four different tables and give you the chance, as a ball guest, to join them. These four tables each have their own themes, namely Fashion, Art (Hans van Benthem), Cuvée de Prestige, and Sustainability. Fifteen tickets will be available per table. Additionally, as a guest at this table, you will receive a tour of both their company and the other companies holding a V.I.P. table. This allows you to get acquainted with the ball guests from these other V.I.P. tables in advance. A unique new concept for the Wiener Ball! We are delighted to welcome our new sponsors.
